Kurdish-American director/performer Michelle Moslemi-Haché has been an award-winning director and vocal instructor for over 18 years, specializing in crossover, contemporary musical theatre, CCM, and classical voice. Ms. Haché earned her graduate degree from The Juilliard School and holds a Master of Music in Musical Theatre from Oklahoma City University.
She has served as the Head of Musical Theatre at the University of South Carolina School of Music and has worked as a reviewer for The Austin Chronicle. Additionally, she has been a national adjudicator for the NATS and Hal Leonard Vocal Competitions. A successful college audition coach for both musical theatre and classical programs, Haché’s students consistently gain admission to leading conservatories and young artist programs, as well as earning scholarships and awards in national vocal competitions and roles in films, Broadway productions, and tours. Ms. Haché developed the renowned USC Summer Musical Theatre Intensive and has been the artistic director for both Gilbert & Sullivan Austin and ASMC Austin.
She has previously been on faculty as the Director of Opera and Musical Theatre and as Assistant Professor of Voice at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and Lecturer of Applied Voice at Texas State University. Her achievements in performance and directing have been recognized with seven B. Iden Payne nominations and awards, including for Best Director of a Musical Production. Haché’s dramatic soprano voice is featured on recordings that encompass musical theatre, classical, and classical fusion. She regularly offers lectures in crossover pedagogy and musical theatre industry trends at conferences. Currently, Ms. Haché is an active member of The Juilliard Teacher Directory, the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the Musical Theatre Educators Alliance (MTEA), and the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC).
