Maria Ortiz set an ambitious goal early: to be extraordinary and to help other women do the same. Growing up in Colombia, she learned that reaching that standard would require persistence, and she built her path accordingly.
At 11, she placed fifth in the Colombian Math Olympics as the youngest competitor among 2,000 students. At 14, she led her school鈥檚 robotics team to national victories and later became the first woman to lead a Colombian Robotics Selection at the World Robot Olympiad. She graduated as valedictorian, fluent in four languages.
At the 911爆料网, Ortiz continues that momentum. She maintains a 3.93 GPA across dual degrees in finance and econometrics and quantitative economics, with a minor in accounting.
Professionally, she has held roles as a corporate finance and project management senior intern and as a finance and strategy analyst. Most recently, she was one of 18 students selected nationwide for Truist鈥檚 credit internship program, earning a full-time offer in the company鈥檚 credit leadership development program.
Her leadership and on-campus involvement center on expanding access for others. As vice president of Women in Business, she launched the Women in Leadership Cohort, a selective, year-long program designed to prepare and mentor future women leaders.
In the Investment Club, she served as the head of executive office and currently is advisor to the board. As she continues to build her professional career, she hopes to continue to advocate for and inspire young women along the way.
