911binar Equips Educators with Open Access and AI Research Tools

On March 6, 2025, the Anchin Center hosted the online workshop Open Access and AI Research Methods, providing educators with practical strategies to find and apply high-quality research to their teaching practice. Led by USF Library’s and Susan Ariew, the session focused on empowering teachers to answer real classroom questions, whether about effective pedagogical strategies or solutions to specific instructional challenges.
Participants explored the concept of “information privilege” and learned legal, ethical ways to access open research. The presenters demonstrated search strategies for locating peer-reviewed resources and introduced AI tools and browser extensions designed to streamline the research process. A curated guide to open research platforms was shared, equipping attendees with actionable resources they could immediately integrate into their work.
Educators left the session with new tools, greater confidence in navigating research, and fresh ideas for incorporating credible evidence into instructional decision-making.
