The USF College of Education is taking center stage at the in Los Angeles, showcasing impactful research and national leadership at one of the field鈥檚 most prestigious gatherings. With more than 2,500 sessions covering innovative studies in an array of areas, AERA is the world's largest gathering of education researchers.
A major highlight: Professor John Ferron has been named a 2026 Fellow of the AERA鈥攐ne of the highest honors in education research. He was recognized during the Awards Ceremony Luncheon on April 9.
Professor Jenni Wolgemuth was elected Member-at-Large on an AERA SIG Executive Committee and will serve a three-year term. Her co-edited book, Expanding Approaches to Thematic Analysis, also earned the Division D Significant Contributions to Research Methodology Award.
Associate Professor Mandie Bevels Dunn received an Honorable Mention for the Division K Early Career Award, celebrating her influential research on teachers and teacher education. Assistant Professor Molly Hamm-Rodriguez also earned an Honorable Mention for the Early Career Award from the Language and Social Processes SIG.
Assistant Professor Lorien S. Jordan has been elected Program Co-Chair of the AERA Qualitative Research SIG for a three-year term beginning in May 2026 and concluding in April 2029. In this leadership role, Jordan will help guide program development, contribute SIG materials for the AERA call for proposals, oversee proposal review for the annual meeting, and collaborate with SIG officers to support a high-quality program.
