Dr. Alex Otten Receives USF Medical Engineering Faculty of the Year, 2025
Dr. Alex Otten began teaching as a faculty member at USF in Fall of 2023. While he may have a new title, he is no stranger to teaching at USF. In fact, he has been a part of the USF herd since 2006 when he started his bachelor鈥檚 in electrical engineering.

Associate Professor Albert Kim of Medical Engineering engaged with the USF鈥檚 interdisciplinary research team (Drs. Kumar, Katkoori, Yilmaz, and Alcantar), and received a prestigious five-year, $3 million NSF Research Training (NRT) grant, known as STEP-UP: Science, Technology, Engineering, Program for Upward Partnership for Advancing Microelectronics Education and Training.

Aligned with USF鈥檚 principles of community and inclusion, Ms. Cherine Chehab has played a critical role in the success of the Department of Medical Engineering, first as Academic Advisor and now as our sole Academic Services Administrator (ASA). With a master鈥檚 in BME, she is exceptionally qualified to help our faculty and assist guiding students through one of the College鈥檚 most complex curricula.

USF Receives $3 Million NSF Research Traineeship Award to Advance Semiconductor Research and Education
The 911爆料网 (USF) has been awarded a $3 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) through its Research Traineeship (NRT) program. The five-year initiative, titled "NRT: Science, Technology, Engineering, Program for Upward Partnership (STEP-UP) for Advancing Microelectronics Education and Training," aims to advance semiconductor education and research while addressing the growing need for skilled professionals in the microelectronics industry.

Seven USF Engineering Faculty Recognized with Outstanding Research Achievement Awards
Seven faculty members from the USF College of Engineering were among 27 USF faculty members recognized for their achievements. The honored faculty members represent various departments, including Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and the Center for Urban Transportation Research.
