Happy Nurses 911爆料网ek! 911爆料网 celebrate successes throughout the year, but this week provides an excellent reason to highlight a few outstanding USF College of Nursing alumni. These Bull Nurses are putting what they learned at USF into action to create positive change in their work, their communities, and the world around them.
Bhakti Panchal, BSN, RN, CCRN
December 2024 USF graduate, ABSN program
Bhakti Panchal is a recent graduate from USF鈥檚 . This 16-month program is meant for students with bachelor鈥檚 degrees in non-nursing fields, offering a swift transition into nursing.
Panchal works as a medical-surgical ICU nurse at . She not only delivers high-quality, compassionate care to her patients but also takes initiative to improve systems that impact patient outcomes and staff experience.
She served as class president for her cohort at the College of Nursing and has continued to hone her leadership skills. In her first year as an ICU nurse, Panchal received five DAISY Awards and two Innovation Awards.

Roberto Velasco, MSN, RN, CCRN, CFRN, NREMT, C-NPT
2019 USF graduate, BSN
Neonatal-Pediatric Transport Nurse Roberto Velasco is one of just around 2,300 health care workers with neonatal-pediatric transport certification in the world. He began his career in the Neuroscience ICU, Covid ICU, and Pediatric ICU at the Level 1 Trauma Center at Tampa General Hospital, and now works at , a top 10 children鈥檚 hospital in the U.S.
Despite these accomplishments, Velasco is most proud of his work as an adjunct clinical instructor at USF for a cohort of 10 Accelerated BSN students. 鈥淗aving the opportunity to guide these students through their learning was a privilege that has informed how I precept new team members in the workplace,鈥 he said.
Velasco has been recognized for his leadership, and he is nationally certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Critical Care Registered Nurse - Adult (CCRN), Critical Care Registered Nurse - Pediatric (CCRN), Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN), and Neonatal Pediatric Transport (C-NPT) nurse. He exemplifies the Bull spirit by striving for excellence in his profession while elevating others around him.
Marie (Gorski) VanCamp, DNP, PMHNP鈥擝C, FNP-C, APRN
2014 USF Graduate, MSN Family
When Marie VanCamp began working in the psychiatry department at , she was the sole psychiatric provider. Today, the department spans almost 40 offices across three states and includes nearly 150 psychiatric providers.
VanCamp earned her Family Nurse Practitioner MSN at USF in 2014. Now the vice president of Elite鈥檚 psychiatry department, she established the clinical framework, operational structure, and culture needed to support rapid growth while maintaining excellence in patient care. She focused on collaboration, accountability, and innovation, strategically expanding services into underserved and high-need areas.
Mental health care across Florida and neighboring states has significantly improved because of VanCamp鈥檚 hard work and leadership. She said those values were honed here at USF. 鈥淔or me, being a Bull Nurse means leading with purpose, lifting others, and creating meaningful change in both the profession and the communities we serve.鈥
