What to Expect

Basics of Coding

Campers will be introduced to various levels of coding, starting with creating clear and effective instructions through body coding, progressing to block coding using Scratch blocks, and advancing to text coding with JavaScript on Root and Sphero robots.

Minecraft Coding Adventures

Campers will learn and practice creation and block coding for character movement and automated tasks with Minecraft for Education.  They will also develop problem-solving skills as they design and build projects, apply logic, and explore creative solutions within the game’s virtual environment.

Sphero Robotics: Code, Solve, and Innovate

Code robots to solve mazes, program an LED light display, and even bowl with Sphero, all while tackling a series of engaging challenges. By working through these hands-on activities, campers will develop critical thinking, collaboration, and coding skills as they create innovative solutions to the problems designed to challenge them.

Master Conditional Coding with Root Robot

Learn coding basics with Root Robot! Campers will explore conditional formatting through fun challenges, using if-then statements and loops to guide Root. This hands-on experience builds problem-solving and coding skills in an engaging, interactive way.

Throughout the week, campers will prepare a presentation for the final showcase, where they will demonstrate the coding skills they’ve learned during USF Everyone Can Code. This showcase allows them to highlight their achievements in block coding, robotics, and problem-solving, while sharing their projects with fellow campers.
