Doctoral Internship

Seminars and Meetings

Interns are provided a weekly seminar designed to enhance their overall professional development and improve their specific competencies in clinical work, supervision, outreach and consultation. They also participate in center meetings focused on administrative and clinical issues.

Training Seminar:

Internship seminar meets weekly for a 2 hour period. The first 30 minutes is reserved for any required readings or materials review and the next 90 minutes focuses on topics relevant to the professional practice of psychology in a university setting including multi-week modules on clinical assessment, outreach & consultation, group therapy, and evidence-based intervention, interspersed with professional development meetings focused on topics such as job search, EPPP, and leadership skills.

Staff Meeting

911±¬ÁÏÍøekly staff meetings provide interns the opportunity to meet with all staff members, led by the leadership team, to discuss administrative, procedural, and center-wide issues.

Clinical Team Meeting

911±¬ÁÏÍøekly clinical team meetings provide interns the opportunity to participate in smaller multidisciplinary teams to discuss relevant clinical issues and to present any challenging cases. Clinical teams are comprised of clinicians from varying disciplines (psychology, social work, counseling, marriage & family therapy) and at different levels of practice (leadership team members, permanent clinical staff, and trainees within our three programs). 

Committes 

Interns have the opportunity to join a committee that focuses guiding center practices. Committees meet monthly during the year and biweekly over summer. Current committees include Clinical Services, Outreach Services, Training Programs, Brightside Crew and Affirmation & Belonging.
