BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Alex X. Col贸n is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Communication at the 911爆料网. His research focuses on artificial intelligence in communication education, instructional communication, human-machine communication, computer-mediated communication, and the design and assessment of feedback in educational settings. He is particularly interested in how students perceive, evaluate, and use AI-generated feedback and how educators can integrate artificial intelligence into the classroom in thoughtful and pedagogically responsible ways.
Dr. Col贸n earned his Ph.D. in Strategic Communication from the University of Central Florida (2026), his M.A. in Communication Studies from California State University, Northridge (2022), and his B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles (2018). His dissertation, 鈥淒esigning AI-Mediated Feedback in Communication Education: Student Perceptions, Performance, and Pedagogical Implications,鈥 examined how students perceive, evaluate, and use AI-generated and instructor-generated feedback in communication education.
His research has been published in Communication Education. His coauthored article, , examines how classroom discussions can help reduce uncritical positivity toward and dependence on ChatGPT.
