Branden Cunard

I am Branden Cunard (he/him/his), a first-year M.A. student in the Women鈥檚, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program at the 911爆料网. I completed my B.A. in Justice and Law with a concentration in Criminology and a double minor in Sociology and Women鈥檚, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from American University in Washington, D.C, in May of 2025. My research interests align heavily within Pop Culture Studies, gender and sexuality in media, queer expression in music and fashion, and LGBTQ+ history, with a heavy focus on centering the Queer Ballroom scene (including Beyonc茅!). Upon completing my M.A degree, I will pursue a PhD in hopes of expanding my knowledge and becoming an educator on LGBTQ+ history and culture. My experience teaching undergraduate students has unlocked a deep passion for accessible education, and I hope to utilize pop culture/gender and sexuality studies as a way of accessible learning for all. Outside the classroom, I am a dancer and choreographer across a variety of styles. When I鈥檓 not in a studio dancing or choreographing, I love anything to do with music, fashion, hiking local trails, and yapping over coffee and a sweet treat.
