Future Practitioner Education
Educating the next generation of practitioners is just as important as educating current practitioners. Developing and mentoring the successors of today's local, state, national, and international leaders is vital to the continued enhancement of our national security.
GNSI will work with our USF colleagues and partners to develop programs/initiatives
focused on creating opportunities for students interested in pursuing a national security
career. These opportunities include:
The GNSI Future Strategist Program (Student Organization)
Open to all USF students (undergraduate and graduate students) who are interested
in a career in global and national security. GNSI will provide opportunities to attend
career panels and fairs to help students identify and pursue challenging career opportunities.
The GNSI DC Experience (Summer)
Each year, GNSI will select a group of USF students (both undergraduate and grad students
are eligible), to spend five days in Washington, D.C. The itinerary focuses on visiting
vital government agencies, engaging directly with current natsec practitioners and
experts and building more meaningful professional connections. More information.
The International Security and Intelligence Programme (Summer)
GNSI is proud to partner with the ISI Programme, reserving up to four slots each year
for USF students. Both undergraduate and grad students are eligible. You'll spend
five weeks in Cambridge, England where you'll learn from some of the world's leading
national security academics and practitioners. More information.
GNSI Student Research Fellows Program (Fall and Spring Semesters)
GNSI offers some outstanding opportunities for both USF and non-USF students, as well
as Professional Military Education (PME). Our resident fellowships (for USF students)
include class credit. These positions are offered only to currently enrolled undergrad
