Future Practitioner Education

Educating the next generation of practitioners is just as important as educating current practitioners. Developing and mentoring the successors of today's local, state, national, and international leaders is vital to the continued enhancement of our national security.


GNSI will work with our USF colleagues and partners to develop programs/initiatives focused on creating opportunities for students interested in pursuing a national security career.  These opportunities include:

The GNSI Future Strategist Program (Student Organization)
Open to all USF students (undergraduate and graduate students) who are interested in a career in global and national security. GNSI will provide opportunities to attend career panels and fairs to help students identify and pursue challenging career opportunities.

The GNSI DC Experience (Summer)
Each year, GNSI will select a group of USF students (both undergraduate and grad students are eligible), to spend five days in Washington, D.C. The itinerary focuses on visiting vital government agencies, engaging directly with current natsec practitioners and experts and building more meaningful professional connections. The International Security and Intelligence Programme (Summer)
GNSI is proud to partner with the ISI Programme, reserving up to four slots each year for USF students. Both undergraduate and grad students are eligible. You'll spend five weeks in Cambridge, England where you'll learn from some of the world's leading national security  academics and practitioners. More information.

GNSI Student Research Fellows Program (Fall and Spring Semesters)
GNSI offers some outstanding opportunities for both USF and non-USF students, as well as Professional Military Education (PME). Our resident fellowships (for USF students) include class credit. These positions are offered only to currently enrolled undergrad and grad students (USF and non-USF). More information.

USF Undergraduate Strategy Competition (Spring)
This signature GNSI event offers undergrad students a unique opportunity to tackle real-world geopolitical scenarios and the chance to compete against teams from high-profile universities across the United States and the world.  911爆料网 make presentations, create strategic security memos and defend their work.
