I am a marine science and chemistry major at the University of Tampa. My hobbies include painting, drawing, and reading, sometimes I knit and I also enjoy language learning. In the future I鈥檇 like to pursue a career in marine or aquatic chemistry, focusing on compositional chemistry, cycling, contaminants and purity. I also find it fun to research polar marine chemistry. I chose to attend USF Making Waves REU because I liked that the program helps undergraduate students gain experience in research as well as the scientific communication of said research. I think the project I will be working on, tracking trace metals, is interesting and will help me gain an understanding on how small concentrations can influence marine events and blooms as well as water chemistry and purification. I am excited to see what data we will collect and how it can be synthesized to draw conclusions and communicate findings.
