I'm a mechanical engineering student in the marine science certificate program at Ohio State University. I'm hugely into music and played guitar for a local hardcore band for about two years; although recently, I stepped away to learn production so that I can make music on my own, in my style. I like to climb and hike, to read when I have the time, and to take my cat on walks.

I went into mechanical engineering and marine science so that I could eventually make submersibles and ROVs for research. I've been absolutely obsessed with the deep sea since I was a kid, so it's my dream to contribute to the global knowledgebase by engineering new marine technologies and working in research firsthand. Currently, I'm in the process of getting more experience in marine science research before looking into options for graduate school in a year's time, where I'll round out my education.

I stumbled onto the USF Making Waves REU while searching for opportunities to get more involved in oceanography research over the summer, when I quickly gained interest in their research projects and decided to investigate the opportunities that the REU would offer. I really appreciated the program's encouragement of engaging with public communication as a part of marine science research and decided that it would be a great fit. I'm also excited to get familiar with the USF College of Marine Science faculty and programs while I'm there as a potential option for graduate school down the line.
