Summer means camp, and at the USF College of Marine Science it means the Oceanography Camp Especially for Girls (OCG). OCG, which has been led by Teresa Greely, director of education and outreach, for over 30 years, invites students from across Pinellas County for a month of hands-on oceanographic research, field trips, and fun.

Campers get the opportunity to kayak to Honeymoon Island, identify fish at Fort De Soto Park, visit laboratories at the College of Marine Science, and deploy scientific instruments off a research vessel.

High school peers include former campers that return to assist with field trips and day-to-day activities. In these blog posts, peers from this year鈥檚 camp reflect on their time as campers and share their experiences as mentors.
