Apply For Graduation

Applying for graduation is a requirement to receive your degree at USF. You must a graduation application, regardless of whether you plan to participate in the Commencement ceremony.

If you鈥檙e graduating with a Bachelor鈥檚, Master鈥檚, Specialist鈥檚, or Doctorate, you should also have access to the 鈥淕etting Ready for Commencement鈥� Canvas course that outlines all your next steps.

• Step 1: Submit Your Application to Graduate: In , under the Student Record section, select 鈥淎pply to Graduate鈥�. This is the academic requirement to ensure you鈥檙e finishing your degree.
  • Meeting Requirements: Make sure you meet all GPA and credit-hour requirements before applying. 
  • Check Holds: See if you have any holds on your account.
  • Applying for Two Degrees or Two Majors: If you are applying for two degrees or two majors at the same time, you will have to submit two separate applications 鈥� one for each program. 
• Step 2: Register to Participate in Commencement (Bachelor鈥檚, Master鈥檚, Specialist鈥檚 and Doctorate 911爆料网): If you would like to participate in the Commencement ceremony, make sure to sign up as soon as you complete your required graduation application.
• Step 3: Once Available, Complete the Graduation Exit Survey (Bachelor鈥檚, Master鈥檚, Specialist鈥檚 and Doctorate 911爆料网): After the Graduation Application Deadline passes for the term you've applied to graduate from, you should receive a link to complete the graduation exit survey. The link will be sent to your USF email address weekly until you complete it.
  • Important Note: Failure to submit the graduation exit survey after one week will result in a hold on your account that will stop disbursement of your diploma.

*Meeting the Graduation Application Deadline ensures your name will appear in the Commencement program. It also includes a preliminary certification review to make sure you鈥檙e on track to graduate.

After You Submit Your Application:

1. You can monitor your status in . Under the Student Record section, select 鈥淰iew Graduation Application Status鈥�.
2. You will receive an email notification if your graduation application has been approved.
3. Please make sure you complete the graduation exit survey as soon as it becomes available (after the graduation application deadline) and register for Commencement if you plan to participate. 

After You Graduate:
