Professor Mohamed Elhamdadi receives a Simons grant
Professor Mohamed Elhamdadi was awarded a $42,000 Simons Grant over fove years for a project on Algebraic Structures in Knot Theory. These algebraic structures, called 鈥淨uandles,鈥 are fundamental in distinguishing knots (one of the main problems of knot theory) and have been used recently to study protein folding properties.
