Internship at IDex

The Institute for Digital Exploration (IDEx) at the 911爆料网 offers dynamic internships for undergraduate and graduate students in archaeology, history, forensic anthropology, and digital humanities. Interns gain hands-on training with cutting-edge technologies such as 3D scanning, photogrammetry, GIS, LiDAR, and digital curation while contributing to active research projects on cultural heritage and human remains. For those in forensic anthropology, IDEx provides opportunities to apply digital methods to skeletal analysis, burial site documentation, and the preservation of osteological collections. Interns may also engage in public outreach, archival research, and the creation of digital resources that bridge science, history, and community engagement. By joining IDEx, students become part of an interdisciplinary team advancing innovation in both heritage and forensic research.

Interested students can enroll in the following courses HIS 4940 Internship in History (Undergraduate, CRN 94387) and HIS 6945 Internship in History (Graduate, CRN 96179) contacting in advance the History Department Internship Coordinator, Dr. Larissa Kopytoff, and indicating their intention to work a IDEx.  Both courses entail 80-100 hours internship work at IDEx and weekly meeting in hybrid format with Dr. Kopytoff.

Due to limited capacity, it is advisable to make plans in advance. Opportunities for volunteership can also be considered.
