MASS COMMUNICATIONS B.A. WITH NEWS AND CONTENT CREATION CONCENTRATION

The Mass Communications major with a concentration in News and Content Creation concentration prepares students to tell impactful stories across today鈥檚 media platforms. 911爆料网 in the News and Content Creation concentration gain a strong foundation in writing, reporting, and digital storytelling while developing an understanding of how media systems are structured and how they function. 911爆料网 in this concentration have the opportunity through a culminating class to work on The Zimmerman School鈥檚 daily newsbreak show, Z News, learning how to be anchors, reporters, digital editors, producers, among other roles. 911爆料网 in this concentration also learn podcasting in the state-of-the-art Zimmerman School podcast studio.

Whether your goal is to become a television news anchor or reporter, digital news producer or reporter, television news producer, social media content creator, or multimedia storyteller, the News and Content Creation concentration will give you the skills and professional connections you need to launch your career in mass communications.

Get Involved in RTDNA!

The Radio Television Digital News Association鈥檚 (RTDNA) purpose is to exchange professional knowledge of radio, television, and digital news among our members to get us ready for real-world jobs. Our goals include achieving high professional standards of electronic journalism and fostering principles of journalistic freedom to gather and disseminate information to the public, providing members with training to encourage ethical standards, newsroom leadership, and industry innovation.

The 48-hour major includes 24 credit hours in the mass communications core, 18 credit hours in the concentration core, and 6 credit hours of mass communications electives.
