Study Away Programs

The Judy Genshaft Honors College offers different study away trips annually, allowing students to explore different parts of the United States. 

The primary goal of the study away programs is to provide an affordable yet expansive opportunity for students to engage in cultural, environmental, and community-building activities.

Led by Honors staff and faculty, these trips vary from year to year and take students to diverse locations, national parks, or events around the country.

Beyond the Classroom: Big Island Hawaii

Learn about and experience Hawai鈥檌 as few have done! Enroll in IDH 4200 during the Spring semester to prepare for an immersive 15-day community-engaged learning opportunity on the Big Island of Hawai鈥檌.

Explore environmental protection and sustainability in Central Florida through hands-on experiences, from kayaking and hiking to visiting museums and exploring the region鈥檚 natural landscapes.

Explore the geological processes that shape America鈥檚 national parks while traveling across diverse landscapes and discovering how mountains are formed.

Fossil Hunters

Travel to Cincinnati to hunt for fossils while exploring deep time, fossil formation and biological evolution in this fast-paced Honors course.
